How is the faith of the centurion different than your own faith in Christ? (Or the same?)

It's hard to answer that without more information about the centurion; How did he come to feel so at ease accepting that Jesus was capable of healing his slave. He walked out to see Jesus - as a centurian he must have considered how such a public act might affect his career and social standing. Can we infer anything from the fact that the centurian went to see Jesus, rather than stay at home and praying for the same result? I'd like to think I would run to Jesus if he were in an earthly body - but... I accept that he's forgotten all my sins, but I haven't - and I'd still feel like he's too holy and clean for the likes of me

Chris, that is a great follow up question! So, if we can't run right up to the bodily Jesus today, can we still run up to Jesus and ask him for what we need and trust in his power of healing? I get the sense that a lot of people today struggle to pray for their own needs, it is easier to pray for the needs of others. Why is that? Perhaps, in some way, we are lacking in our faith or even our own self confidence?

Interesting discussion. Beleiving that Jesus could heal the soldiers daughter was easier for him to beleive because he (witnessed, first hand) other healings Jesus performed. We have not had that personal experience. However, Jesus did tell the disciples through FAITH, they could do greater miricles. We consider ourselves disciples right? so what is our problem in beleiving Jesus could heal at our request. Faith, without doubt or questioning is the key. I have witnessed the power of the Holy Ghost come upon my Mother, it was as if she was being electricuted. That was something that has helped confirm for me that God is alive through his Spirit which we can call upon for any cause...if only we Beleive and have Faith that God will come through for us.

It is FAITH, without a doubt. The Bible tells us horrible things are going to happen to this country and this world, before JESUS returns, and it is going to be our "FAITH in GOD" that will get us through the times that are coming.
